Like Scientologist friends Leah Remini, Kelly Preston and Katie Holmes, singer/actor/dancer Jennifer Lopez is said to be considering silent birth when it comes time to deliver her little bundle(s) of joy.
Contrary to what the name implies, a silent birth doesn't require the mother remain noiseless throughout the process, but others involved are asked to limit their noise levels to the point of using hand signals rather than speaking, as the words or sounds could negatively affect the infant for life.
I'm all for whatever birth plan the mother is most comfortable with. Home birth? Fine. Water birth? Super! Drug-free? Good for you! Drugged? Smart plan!
However, I've told my kids simple things like "Blow your nose!" and "Sleeves and napkins are not the same thing!" thousands of times and they can't seem to remember that, so I think our decidedly non-silent birthing plan was the right choice for us.
