This is very important as most car seats are designed not based on the child's age but on his/her weight. Do not also forget to consider essential car seat features which include ease of installation, tether system, wash-ability, and comfort. Additional features such as a 5-point harness, wide and twist-free straps, and head impact protection are also very helpful in providing children with utmost protection during accidents.
